Community education classes provide a welcoming space to learn, share, and connect, 
fostering personal growth and stronger community bonds.

Sioux Falls Community Education classes have a long history of fostering lifelong learning and community engagement.
Rooted in the idea of accessible education, the program was established to provide individuals of all ages with opportunities
 to expand their knowledge, develop new skills, and connect with others in the community.

What They Offer
Sioux Falls Community Education offers a wide variety of classes designed to cater to diverse interests and needs. These classes typically include:
          • Arts and Crafts: Painting, pottery, photography, and other creative workshops.
          • Cooking and Culinary Skills: Hands-on cooking classes for different cuisines and dietary preferences.
          • Health and Wellness: Yoga, fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness sessions.
          • Personal Development: Financial planning, career growth, and communication skills.
          • Technology and Business: Computer literacy, coding, social media marketing, and entrepreneurship.
          • Language and Culture: Language courses, cultural explorations, and travel tips.
          • Hobbies and Special Interests: Gardening, DIY home improvement, and more.
I became an instructor in 2023 and couldn’t be happier to be part of such an incredible organization. 
So far, I taught 3 different classes around cooking and wellness.

The 2025 Spring classes will be publicly available on the website starting February 8th, 
with registration opening on February 12th! 
Some classes fill up quickly, so I recommend signing up as soon as possible.




French Baguette Baking

Friday, March 28th and Thursday, Thursday, April 3rd
From 6:00pm to 8:00pm
This class has been running for two years, and it’s been a joy every time! Join me to master the art of baguette-making and wow your guests. In just 1 hour and 30 minutes, you'll leave with two freshly baked baguettes—and the irresistible aroma filling your car might make them vanish before you get home!
You have the option to add on a baguette mold, and my book Simply French in America.





Taste of India: Sourdough Naan + Spice Blending

From 6:00pm to 8:00pm
In this combo class between cooking instructors Sandrine Pilaz and Rachel DeBoer, become a master of spices AND sourdough. Rachel’s background in herbalism and culinary arts will equip and inspire you to spice up your everyday cooking, covering all things spices -- blending, medicinal benefits, dry toasting, and tempering, all while stirring up an Indian-inspired chickpea curry to enjoy. French cookbook author, Sandrine Pilaz, will guide you through preparing homemade sourdough naan bread. Sourdough starters will be available for participants to get started baking at home.

Feeling tired of small talk and shallow conversations? Longing for a safe space where you can truly open up and connect with other women? Join a transformative women’s circle, where vulnerability and genuine connection take center stage. In this unique type of gathering, we’ll practice active listening, share our stories, and witness the magic that unfolds when women come together. Discover what it means to be truly seen and heard. Come just as you are, and let’s cultivate deeper, more meaningful relationships together.


Flow & Fun: Creative Movements for Adults

Saturday, June 7th from 9:30am to 11:30am
Embark on a unique movement class designed to help adults reconnect with their bodies, reduce stress, and find joy in physical activity. This class is an introduction to a gentler approach to movement and exercise, blending mindfulness, playfulness, dance, and self-expression.
The goal of this class is to break free from the idea of movement as performance or exercise, and instead create an environment where participants feel liberated to move in ways that feel natural, spontaneous, and fun. This class is a safe space to explore new ways of moving and being.
